The HandbikeBattle
The concept of the HandbikeBattle was conceived by a number of professionals from different rehabilitation centres. They founded the Handbike Events Foundation from the following vision:
If we let people with physical disabilities experience what extreme physical challenges do to them, we give them power to live up to their dreams and improve the quality of life.
What is it?
The HandbikeBattle is a handbike race for people with disabilities. You can participate as a participant of a team of a Dutch rehabilitation centre or as an individual participant. Every year there are also a number of foreign participants.
Battle stage is the climb to the Kaunertaler gletscher in Tyrol, Austria. The participants go up on arm power, over a length of 20 km and with 867 meters height difference. A great challenge for hand bikers of all levels. For some a pure competition for others the sporting challenge of the year.
Which team and which hand bikers go home with the coveted HandbikeBattle prizes? Take on the mountain, yourself and the opponents! See you in the beautiful and welcoming Kaunertal in Austria!
